“Café-discussion” on green chemistry at AgroParisTech

On 19th September, the M2 BIP BEB’s cohort including 5 Bioceb students from the 4th intake and 2 external students participated actively in the debate chaired by Stéphanie Baumberger at the library of AgroParisTech’s campus in Palaiseau.

Taking the opportunity of the publication of the book “Green chemistry and agro-food industry: towards a sustainable bioeconomy”, Stéphanie Baumberger stimulated exchanges on the principles of green chemistry and their role in the development of a sustainable bioeconomy. Among the different problematics addressed by the audience, the students questioned the ability of companies to commit to eco-friendly chemistry, which was a good starter to the discussion about the REACH regulation and its impacts.

This back-to-school September event gathered students from different AgroParisTech engineer and Master’s curriculum. It ended with informal exchanges over coffee.
